Que : 15. Draw the projection of a line AB, whose end A is in HP and 10 mm in front of VP. The line makes an angle of 30° with VP and 60° with HP. The line is 50 mm long.
Answer:

(i) Mark top view of point A, as a 12 mm below XY line and corresponding front view a', 15 mm above XY line.

(ii) First assuming AB to be parallel to V.P. and inclined at 30° to H.P., line a'b'1 is drawn (equal to AB). b'1 is projected on XY as b1.

(iii) Now assuming AB to be parallel to H.P. and inclined at 45° to V.P., line ab2 is drawn of length AB = 55 mm. b2 is projected on XY as b'2

ab1 and a'b'2 are lengths of AB in the top view and the front view respectively.

(iv) Now with a' as centre and radius a'b'2 draw an arc cutting locus of b'1 at b'. With centre a and radius ab1, draw an arc cutting locus of b2 at b.

(v) Join a'b' and ab, these are the required projections of line AB.
