Que : 16. A right regular pentagonal prism side of base 25 mm and axis 50 mm long lies on HP on one of it's rectangular faces such that the axis is parallel to HP and inclined at 30° to VP. Draw the projection of the solid.
Answer:

(i) Initial front view of the prism is drawn with one of its rectangular faces on the H.P. and the axis perpendicular to the V.P. It will be a regular pentagon a'b'c'd'e' of sides 30 mm with one of its side d'e' on XY.

(ii) Project corresponding top view taking length of axis as 60 mm.

(iii) Reproduce the top view by inclining the axis at an angle of 60°.

(iv) Project final front view by drawing vertical projectors from second top view, meeting the horizontal projectors from initial front view. In this view lines 2'13'1, 3'1 4'1 and c'13'1, will not be visible, hence shown by dashed lines.
